About Us

Picture
Challenge12 was founded by Andy Connolly and Paul McKeown in London in 2012. Both Andy & Paul wanted to create a way that encouraged people to challenge themselves and in doing so, help raise money for worthwhile charities and causes.

The first year was a definitely learning curve for Challenge12UK and focused on the level of personal community, with both Andy and Paul asking friends and family to take part. By December 12th 2012 the year target had been beaten, with the total reaching £12,736.16.

The second year began on January 12th 2013. The team looked at what worked and what didn't work in the first year. The most important change is that rather than 12 charities picked at random, 12 individuals would be asked to take responsibility for each challenge and to do so for a charity that meant something to them. They would bring their family and friends together. The idea was to expand from the community of two people, to the communities of twelve.

This will be the continuing theme of Challenge12 - to continue branching out and increasing the communities reached. Next year (2014) we will be looking to bring Challenge12 to local communities within chosen areas.

During the 9th Challenge of the 2012 year, Andy hurt his knee and needed some physiotherapy to get him back in fighting shape. This is where he met Adam McDonald Jnr. Adam was Andys physiotherapist for several months before moving back to NZ.....
